Festive Sponsored Dash

Klimatec’s Operations Director Ben Johnston has already got into the festive spirit by dressing up as Santa for his town’s sponsored dash to raise funds for a local club.

Ben completed the sponsored dash in November for Staines’ Under-12’s Rugby Football Club, part of the Rotary Club’s annual Christmas fundraiser.

 Having already raised over £600, Ben is on track to reach his goal of £1,000 by the end of the month. The money raised will help pay for any team members and their families who can’t afford to participate in next years rugby tour.

Commenting on his participation, Ben said:

“It’s a privilege to support my local rugby team and its community by giving something back through this fundraiser. Getting under-privileged young people into sport, where they can meet new people, remain fit and healthy and improve their mental wellbeing is everything to me. I am delighted that we have seen so much support and look forward to bringing even more children onto the team next year.

Staines RFC is a small club and we have a number of boys who come from struggling homes, we are trying our best as youth coaches to provide a place where they can grow as part of a team with good discipline and a strong moral compass.”

One of the main goals of the charity run was to allow children to participate in a trip to Devon around Easter 2023 to enter a rugby tournament.
