Klimatec’s van fleet receives new security cages

Klimatec has introduced new vehicle security cage doors across its van fleet. The cages help to both protect staff from being threatened & keeping stored equipment more secure.

With 15 new style vans in the fleet Klimatec wanted to take additional precautions to help keep both the engineer and the vehicle safe from thieves. The new cage doors help offer both deterrence and anti-theft technology designed to make breaking into the back of the vehicle a lot harder.

The company chose to work with Mundy, a Leamington-Spa-based company based in Warwickshire, over a year ago when the first vans received the new cages as a trial.

Led by Klimatec’s Operations Manager Peter Lake, the vans are now being used by engineers up and down the country and have been incredibly well-received. Like many UK businesses who operate and maintain their own commercial fleets, Klimatec has experienced damage to its vehicles in the past, from forced locks to drilled boreholes.

The new cage doors, alongside pre-existing van vaults, have been introduced as a result of this, and because Klimatec always puts the safety of its engineers first, this has been seen as a welcome addition by the team. No loose tools are left in Klimatec vehicles overnight.
